About
Who writes this
I'm L. On my Korean blogs I write as Apprentice L. I live in Korea, and I'm not a developer.
I use AI coding assistants for everyday chores, mostly Claude Code, with Codex as a second reviewer: a household budget app my wife and I use, a weekly summary queued by Task Scheduler, a daily balance check, a Telegram stop switch, and the scripts that hold them together.
What this blog is
This blog is my log of that work, in the first person.
Each post covers one real thing I set up or broke. You get what I saw, the actual numbers, the error text, and the setting or line that fixed it.
These are not tutorials rewritten from documentation. When a job quietly produced no data for 3 days before I noticed, I say it was 3 days.
When a log line or command was originally in Korean, I mark it as translated.
When a code block is a simplified example and not my exact code, I say so.
What I don't automate
Decisions that move money stay with me. My scripts can collect balances and remind me of things.
Buy, sell and transfer decisions are made by a person, and that person is me.
Tools I actually use
As of October 2026:
- Windows Task Scheduler, to run jobs at set times
- Telegram, for alerts and a remote stop switch
- Google Sheets, to store data for the household budget app I built with AI (previously a 14-tab spreadsheet) and to track investments in a sheet my scripts refresh every afternoon
